The following information is provided to help answer the most common questions about the Tower & Antenna Registration Database CD-ROM.

• Q. Why does the Tower and Antenna Registration CD-ROM contain two different databases?

  A. The Tower and Antenna Registration CD-ROM contains two different databases because the FCC currently has two seperate file each containing tower data. The Tower database is the original file the FCC used to record tower data. In 1996 the FCC stopped adding tower data to the Tower database and began recording the data in the newer Antenna Registration. Currently the Tower database has approximately twice the amount of records as the Antenna Registration file. However, new records are only added to the Antenna Registration file. In addition, the FCC is also in the process transferring existing records from the Tower database into the Antenna Registration. Once the transfer process is complete, the Tower database will no longer contain data and only the Antenna Registration will exist.

• Q. What is the source of the data and how accurate is it? Does PerCon collect and maintain their own database?

  A. The Tower and Antenna Registration CD-ROM is created using data obtained directly from the FCC. PerCon does not edit or change the data in any way and the data is provided exactly as it appears in their database. Because the data is an exact copy of what the FCC has in their system, the data should be 100% accurate, provided that the data the FCC has is correct. PerCon processes the data into a format which is compatible with the search program.

• Q. Does PerCon have tower site information for countries outside the US?

  A. No. At this time the Tower and Antenna Registration CD-ROM only contains data for the US.

• Q. Can I distribute data found on the CD-ROM?

  A. No. The data on is copyright © 2003 by PerCon and cannot be re-distributed without permission from PerCon. Please contact PerCon for additional information.
